Order & delivery

How can I track my order?

As soon as your unique items leave our logistics hub in Ede, we'll immediately send you an automatic email confirmation with a Track & Trace code. This code allows you to track your shipment accurately via DHL or PostNL, so you'll know exactly when the delivery driver will arrive at your door.

What are the shipping costs and delivery times?

We run an efficient logistics process to get your order to you quickly.

  • Delivery time: orders placed before 4:00 PM go out the same day and are typically delivered within one to two business days.
  • Shipping costs: a flat rate of €6.95 within the Netherlands and Belgium, free from an order value of €75.
  • International: shipping to other countries is available on request. Email business@wabi-sabilivingware.nl with your address and the set you'd like, and we'll calculate the shipping cost for you.

How do you ensure that the fragile ceramics arrive intact?

To ensure your hand-picked ceramics arrive undamaged, we consistently use the professional box-in-box method. Each item is first wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer and then placed in a sturdy, double-walled shipping box with biodegradable padding, minimizing our breakage rate during transport.

How do I use my discount code?

Sign up for our newsletter and get a 10% welcome discount on your first order. You'll receive the code by email — enter it in the 'Discount code' field at checkout.

What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay securely and quickly with the following options:

  • iDEAL (via Mollie): the fastest and most-used way to pay — our recommendation.
  • Credit card and the other payment methods shown at checkout.

All payments run through Shopify's secure payment system.

Product & maintenance

Is the tableware suitable for daily use and dishwasher safe?

Our ceramics are technically tested for intensive daily use and are fully dishwasher- and microwave-safe up to 220 degrees Celsius. However, we do recommend avoiding extreme thermal shock, such as placing an ice-cold plate directly into a hot oven, to prevent the formation of small hairline cracks in the glaze.

Why does my received product differ from the photo on the website?

The essence of Wabi-Sabi is celebrating imperfection and the visible hand of the maker, meaning no two objects in our collection are exactly identical. Subtle variations in glaze thickness, shape, or color depth are inherent to the artisanal production process at our partners in Spain, Turkey, and China, making your purchase a one-of-a-kind piece. Aura's reactive glaze creates its own natural color variation, so differences in color depth belong there too — even though it's the one line that isn't specifically hand-shaped or hand-painted.

Where does the tableware come from?

Every line is designed in Spain. Production differs per collection: Cosmos is hand-shaped in Turkey, while Elite, Aura, Zafiro, and Velvet are produced in China. Our coffee cups are handmade in Japan. Each product page's Origin & material section tells you exactly where that piece comes from and what was done by hand.

Which set should I choose?

That depends on the collection and how you use your tableware.

  • Elite and Cosmos: available for 4, 6, or 8 people, in three compositions — the Breakfast Set (compact basics), Daily Dining (full lunch or dinner), and the Full Experience (complete line).
  • Aura: only available as a set for 4 people.
  • Zafiro and Velvet: only available as a set for 6 people.

Not sure? Start with individual pieces from Elite or Cosmos and expand later — those stay available to reorder piece by piece.

Will Zafiro and Velvet come back once sold out?

No. Zafiro and Velvet are last-stock collections and will not be produced again. Once a set sells out, it disappears from our range for good.

Can I order individual pieces later to match my set?

Yes, as long as the collection is still in our range. Cosmos and Elite stay in production and can be ordered piece by piece, so you can add to or expand your set later. For Zafiro and Velvet this is only possible while stock lasts.

Returns & breakage

What should I do if an item was delivered damaged?

In the rare event that an item arrives damaged despite our careful packaging, please report this within 24 hours of receipt. Email business@wabi-sabilivingware.nl with clear photos of the damaged piece and the shipping box, and we'll promptly arrange a free replacement or a full refund.

Can I return my order if the product does not meet my expectations?

You have the right to return your purchase up to 14 days after receipt without giving a reason, provided the ceramic is in its original, undamaged packaging. You will be responsible for the return shipping costs, and we ask that you repack the shipment securely for transport to our warehouse in Ede so we can process your return correctly.

What is wabi-sabi tableware and what does japandi mean?

Wabi-sabi is a Japanese aesthetic principle that finds beauty in imperfection, simplicity, and transience — no two pieces are identical, and that's exactly the point. Japandi is the style that combines this Japanese calm with Scandinavian warm minimalism: functional, understated, and without unnecessary ornamentation. Our collections bring this philosophy to your table, hand-shaped, hand-glazed, or hand-painted by artisans.
