I bought the full set and gifted the “Swept Earth” and “Caramel” cups to a friend because I thought they matched well. She absolutely loves them, and even mentioned that the size would be perfect for making matcha.
All of the cups feel unique, and I love the swirl at the bottom. They arrived wrapped in Japanese newspaper, which also made the whole experience feel extra artisanal.
As a tea drinker myself, I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy they are. Even when filled with boiling water, they do not burn my hands, and they fit comfortably in my hands, (I will be using them as hand warmers in winter). They are a bit bigger than I expected, but I actually like that.
They are also very durable, none of them have gotten tea stains, and they can go in the dishwasher (my other ceramic mugs can’t so this is a plus). The finish for this “swept earth” cup is more matte, similar to the “Eclipse” cup. The color is pretty true to the pictures, a pretty pale brown. Shipping was quick and everything was wrapped very securely. If you want to gift a beautiful, well made piece, I would definitely recommend these cups.
