This oval bowl deliberately breaks with the classic round shape. Its elongated form, 16.5 × 14 cm × H 7.7 cm, gives room for a hearty salad, a portion of pasta for two, or serves as a serving dish on the table — more functional than a round bowl of comparable capacity, and more compact on the table.

Yes, both. Do avoid extreme temperature swings, though — a cold plate straight into a hot oven — to prevent hairline cracks in the glaze.
